Somaxon is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of proprietary products and late-stage product candidates, currently targeting the treatment of diseases and disorders in the central nervous system therapeutic area.

Our dedicated commercial sales team is currently promoting Silenor^® the first and only nonscheduled prescription medication approved for the treatment of sleep maintenance insomnia. This team is comprised of experienced representatives that are located throughout the United States whose target customers include high-prescribers of insomnia therapies, including psychiatrists, neurologists, sleep specialists and high-prescribing primary care physicians.

In June 2011, we entered into an exclusive collaboration agreement with Paladin Labs Inc. for the commercialization of Silenor in Canada, South America and Africa. We believe Paladin is an ideal partner for us in Canada and emerging markets given its track record of achieving regulatory approval and effectively commercializing branded pharmaceuticals. Along with the United States, Somaxon maintains the rights to Silenor in Europe and Japan.

Whether through a co-promotion, in-licensing, acquisition, or other strategic arrangement, Somaxon is interested in evaluating differentiated products and late-stage product candidates that can complement the current detailing efforts of our commercial sales team.
