In 2006, we completed a pilot Phase 2 clinical trial for nalmefene, an opioid antagonist, in smoking cessation. While the results from this study were encouraging, the clinical data from a Phase 2/3 nalmefene study in pathological gambling did not meet our intended efficacy endpoints. This program is currently on hold until we determine how to best move forward with nalmefene, if at all.
